How to Avoid Slip and Fall

How to Avoid Slip and Fall is a post from: http://www.personalinjurylawyercalgaryinc.ca/

In cold places there is a slip and freeze cycle. Snow melts during the day and freezes at night. This produces a layer of ice that makes walking dangerous.

There are some things that you can do to prevent slip and fall accidents from occurring.

Wear the proper footwear. In winter boots with thick threads and souls will provide better traction for walking on ice. Wear the boots outside and when inside you can change to interior shoes such as sneakers. Do not wear high heels on ice.

Pay attention to your surroundings. Look to see if there is visible ice or snow on the group. Look to see if the area has been salted. It is better to walk in the deeper snow then on the ice. Snow can provide a little bit more traction. If you do have to walk on ice walk slowly, take small steps, use arms and upper body to help balance, and keep the knees bent.

Take care of your walkways. Sand or ice them. Shovel after snow and aim drainage pipes away from walkways.

If you do slip and fall it can be hard to figure out who is responsible. Businesses have to make their walkways clean. If you have been injured due to slip and fall contact us right away to get your life back.
